IGI required attendances and facilities for contract

The Following attendances and facilities shall be provided and maintained by the Contractor free of charge at all times for the duration of the sub-contract works and in a manner such that the regular progress of the Sub-Contract works is in no way restricted or disrupted.

1. General Welfare - General welfare and health and safety facilities in accordance with statutory rules and obligations.

2. Working Platform – Provision of a firm, dry (all weather), safe level working platform installed 2 – 3 metres outside the building footprint. Material to be loosely end tipped without being specifically compacted. Up-fill material shall be essentially granular and free draining with an upper size limit of 100mm and less than 10% passing the 75 micron sieve. In addition, there shall be less than 20% material finer than 2mm. Particles shall be stable and have an aggregate crushing value not exceeding 30%. Where required, ramps, including access ramps must be to a gradient not steeper than 1 in 10. The platform must be designed and installed to adequately support the Sub-Contractors plant and equipment (rig details will be forwarded to facilitate design). The Sub-Contractor should be notified of any change in ground conditions revealed during its installation. The platform must be fully maintained throughout the Sub-Contract works. A piling platform certificate must be signed prior to commencement of the works on site.

3. Setting Out – Setting out and maintenance of the building corners and all centres of main foundations to enable the Sub-Contractor to set out intermediate column positions using normal tape measures.

4. Obstructions – Prior removal of overhead, surface or underground obstructions which may impede the Sub-Contractors operations. Backfilling of excavations and voids to retain the integrity of the designed working platform.

5. Excavator – Provision of access to an excavator to facilitate prompt removal of sub-surface obstructions encountered during the Sub-Contract works.

6. Access – Safe, unrestricted, dry firm level access from the site entrance to the working platform, designed and installed to allow safe ingress and egress of the Sub-Contractors plant, equipment and materials. Ramps, where required to a gradient no steeper than 1 in 10.

7. Protection – Protection of curbs, road surfaces, pavements, landscaping and any other third party property. Wheel and road cleaning facilities to be provided if required.

8. Checking – All column positions to be checked prior to removal of the specialist equipment.

9. Notices, Rates and Fees – Giving all notices and obtaining all necessary approvals, licences and sanctions from all relevant parties prior to commencement of the Sub-Contract works. Payment of any rates or fees associated with the Sub-Contract works.

10. Security, Hoardings, Fencings – Provision of adequate site security, hoardings, fences, noise and splash barriers to protect specialist plant and equipment, the general public and third party property.

11. Existing Services – The site must be scanned and all site service drawings obtained and checked. The exact location of all existing services must be clearly marked out on the surface of the site or exposed. Adequate protection, diversion or removal of services to prevent damage. A permit to dig must be signed prior to commencement of the Sub-Contract works.

12. Hardstanding and Storage Areas – Provision and maintenance of firm, dry, safe, level areas on site, adjacent to the working area, designed for storage of the Sub-Contractors plant, equipment and materials.

13. Zone Test Bases – Concrete bases for zone tests (where required) to be constructed and removed upon completion.

14. Lighting – In accordance with health and safety requirements, provision of adequate lighting to the working platform, storage and access areas.

15. Traffic – Control or diversion of road, pedestrian walkways, rail or water borne traffic where required.

16. Protection – Protection of the works when the Sub-Contractor has left site.

17. Permit to Dig – A signed permit to dig which addresses the presence of underground services and hazards within the site must be provided prior to commencement of the Sub-Contract works on site.

18. Insurances – If the working area is close to existing structures, non-negligence insurance must be provided with adequate provision against damage.
