The Company

Independent Ground Improvement Company Limited (IGI Ltd) started in February 2006, within premises in Widnes, Cheshire. The company was formed by Brian Derby, Suzanne Hayes and Philip Halford.

In April 2006, the initial team was joined part time by Andrew Roberts, who was at the time brought in to formulate the design drawings.

The company initially started by purchasing a single vibro rig (generally known as the blue rig), and with a 3 man crew carried out a number of jobs successfully. These few jobs started to increase the enquiry level and within 6 months a second rig was required to service the jobs won.

In February 2009, IGI Ltd, moved to new premises in Risley Warrington, as a need for larger premises was required. Also at the start of 2008 a third rig was purchased.

In July 2010, Deborah Evans joined the company to help alleviate the pressure on the estimating department due to the growing number of estimates being received. Further to this with increased work load and estimates being serviced, Martin Birtwistle joined the team to also help with tender enquiries and also bring in more experience in the design aspect of the company. In 2011 a fourth rig was purchased to keep the jobs won serviced.
